This bespoke wardrobe was crafted to fit seamlessly into the client’s new home extension, maximising storage space while maintaining a minimalist yet functional design for their master bedroom.

The Brief

The client came to us needing a custom-fitted, built-in wardrobe that would make the most of the space in their new bedroom extension. They wanted a simplistic piece of furniture that wouldn’t dominate the room but still provided ample storage, with plenty of drawers, shelving and hanging rails.

The Design

The challenge of this design was crafting a unit that maximised the available space without overwhelming the room, while perfectly fitting the sloped ceilings and working around the windows to maintain plenty of natural light. Thanks to our talented team of designers, we were able to do just that!

The wardrobe featured a minimalist aesthetic with a clean, streamlined look featuring all-white doors and long metal handles that blend seamlessly into the design. It aligned perfectly with the sloped ceilings while ensuring every cupboard was accessible and made the most of the space underneath, with full internal carcases in a white finish, providing a clean, light interior. We included split and long hanging rails, large drawers and open shelving, as well as a chest of drawers that slotted neatly underneath the window and offered plenty of extra surface space.

The Materials

When selecting the materials for this unit, we had to consider the potential effects of the ensuite bathroom located next to the space. To minimise the risks of warping and water damage caused by moisture coming from the bathroom, we chose a combination of tulipwood and MDF. While neither material is inherently moisture-resistant, the use of MDF in the doors provides a more stable structure than traditional timber thanks to its resistance to changes in humidity and temperature. The final result is a durable, long-lasting wardrobe that confidently maintains its integrity, even in a moisture-prone environment.

The Finished Product

The finished wardrobe and chest of drawers perfectly balanced the need for functional storage in a minimalist design. The unit provides plenty of space for hanging clothes, drawers for accessories and shelving for additional storage, all while blending beautifully into the existing style of the extension. The customer was over the moon with the completed project and said it was everything they had asked for and more.
